Where to find cheap glass jars and bottles

Hi all,
I am trying to make more of a homemade effort this year. Tried the Gingerbread Latte Syrup I found on here, which is gorgeous, and have a few other bits planned (limoncello/chutney etc).
Can anyone tell me where I can get cheap, but good, glass jars and bottles?
They have them in Poundland but I'm not sure if they will have good seals etc?
Help would be appreciated!!!
Thanks,

Have you tried looking at ebay for job lot jars? even amazon? also doing searches on the internet, depending on quantity :-)0

Try Ikea. They have some good cheap jars.0

Saw some in Sainsburys today, lots of different sizes, kilner style so would think lids will be very good seal - they were all reduced but not sure of prices0

Ikea is good for Kilner-style jars. We use the smaller ones for spices mostly but I've also used them for jam and they work perfectly. For your syrups, you could use these - http://www.wilko.com/home-brew/wilko-swing-top-bottles-6-x-500ml/invt/0318707?VBMST=beer%20bottle%20500ml I think they're meant for beer really but I've used them for elderflower cordial and they will look great when I make some pretty labels. They hold more than 500ml though, more like 650ml IIRC. A while ago, Wilko also had Kilner bottles reduced to around the same price as those (per bottle) so you could keep an eye on them.0

I usually get mine from the range, ikea or homesense, although the last bottle I bought from ikea the seal was broken!! Grrrr very frustrating xx
Clearing off the credit card
Every little helps!!!

Cheers. I had been looking around and found that buying jars with stuff in looks to be the cheapest way - 29p for a jar of cheap jam. For the liquid ones, asda had 3 for £5 on the grolsch swing top bottles so think I will get them?0

If you don't mind prettying up your own jars, value jam (or value curry sauce for chutney) makes for cheap jars.
Kilner style I found that Wilkinsons are generally quite cheap but they are half price in Sainsbury at the moment for the Kilner brand. Asda do their own kilner versions and I'm sure we paid £3 for 3 large kilner style jars.0 -
I've been buying lots of value lemon curd so I have jars to use (luckily there is a lovely lemon curd cake recipe on the old style board - apparently keeps well so could make a good present too!). I would imagine some Christmas fabric popped over the lid would made the jars look lovely and festive.0
