Robinson Way letter out of the blue

Sorry I haven't really posted before so not sure if this is the right place. I had some debt problems in my early 20's and have spent a lot of years sorting it out and paying it off to the point where I don't have any bad debts anymore and my credit rating is good now

However I received a letter today from a company called Robinson way saying for the purpose of validation we believe you used to live at the address above. Please contact us so we can ensure our records are correct. The first thing is it is in my maiden name which I haven't used since 2002, and the address which was my parents at the time I moved out of in 2003 so it's been 10 years since I lived there. Secondly there is nothing on my credit file showing as outstanding. What should I do next?

A "fishing" letter, and whatever they are after it's likely either not yours or statute barred.

Anything that old would no longer be on your credit files anyway.

Personally, unless they write saying what they want, then I would file under ignore.

Replying at this stage may get you into an argument you might never need to have.

General advice is to ignore this sort of vague letter and wait until they write to you again with some specific details of the alleged debt.

If they write to you again and provide details of some sort of alleged debt then you could either send the prove it letter - Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter

or there is a letter that basically say you have no knowledge of the alleged debt and it would be statute barred even if it did exist.
