Fri 18th Oct - What Small DFW Things Will You Be Doing Today?

When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Morning DFW-Jedis,
Another beautiful morning here, despite the buckets of rain. Epic day today! Determined to be upbeat again today. I woke up earlier than I planned so I've made use of that time.
The List:Check online banking. Done.
Go to local Training Session for new job this morning. Don't really know which smiley to pick for this.... :T  They don't know how long the training was going to take (?!) so I'm taking a light packed lunch with me. Afterwards let JobCentre know I've been. (I know I should have told them yesterday but I didn't in case the training was cancelled before it begun.) Fingers crossed for a confirmed job starting date.
Eat hearty breakfast to keep me away from any vending machines. Done.

Morning lovelies!!
Again, thanks for kicking us off Ally!! All the best for your training today - and fingers crossed for a start date very soon!!
Up and at 'em nice and early today... Time to kick Friday's butt!!
Lots to get on with before holiday next week, going to a wedding tomorrow and then I'm working til we fly out!
So, here goes:Washing on economy wash - out to dry as quickly as possible!!
Start some of the ironing for OH
Dig suitcase out from under the bed - clean and freshen it up with some lavender oil drops
Make up holiday First Aid Kit with bits from work and our stores
Make a list of clothes that need to come with us (also handy for insurance purposes as pasts experience has taught me!!)
Charge underwater camera battery, wipe memory cards and grease the seals on the housing - don't want a leak!!
Check outfit is all ok for wedding tomorrow - might need a quick press
Polish shoes
Fill cheeky hip flask to pop in OH's bag - I'm driving anyway, but every little helps!
Soak Gammon joint for dinner tonight - should be enough for at least 2 dinners and lunches for work next week!
Get hair cut - OH has been doing it, but could do with a proper chop now! Will pop and see my mate, will take him a coffee and Mam's HM welshcakes in payment!
Pay cash from penny jar into account (£40)
Nectar Adpoints & Swagbucks
Check online banking - will be away on payday & 1st Nov when our DD's come out, so need to make sure there's enough in the joint account to cover these until I get back and can move money around - Egyptian Internet is not the most reliable/secure!!
Have a whip around the house with duster and polish, quick Hoover round too - save OH on the weekend
Pop up allotment and weed plot properly before we go away!!
Hopefully have some time to train today too - if not, it'll have to be a quick run and some weights at home in between jobs!!
Right, best be cracking on then!! Busy day today!!
Lots of MSE love to you all xxx:T DEBT FREE AS OF APRIL 2013! :T"I am the master of my fate. I am the captain of my soul"0 -

When we last went abroad we scanned/photographed our passport, ticket and insurance details and sent them to ourselves in our email, so that if they got lost we had a copy of the details. Though you say Egyptian internet may not be secure, so perhaps not...

Newbie here and good morning!i am looking for ways to become a debt free in control goddess of everything. I do lack very little control of things at the moment but hopefully can turn it all around with the help of Mse.
Am looking for lots of tips to help me along my way!
So today's list will be small but somewhere to start:
- all meals from stores and snacks/drinks! Need to stop buying the coca colas when out and about!
- list 2 items on eBay
- download banking app for phone
Very boring I know!! Have a good dayA new year, new month, new focus and new hope - must stay on the right path for my dreams to come true![/CENTER]

Hi Friday Money-Savers,
Today's small positive things:
*Cleaned whole house using just my dilute Stardrops in spray bottle, a bit of bleach & the trusty Dyson which is held together with brown tape.
*Meals as per meal plans.
*Pulled a bunch of spring onions from my August sowing.
*Picked up more windfall pears.
*Did surveys.
*Checked 'Book People' to see if books I want for F-I-L are back in stock as today is free p&p code one day only. No! :-(
*Altered two tops from an 18 down to a 16.......took the opportunity to alter the fastenings on one of them to prevent further Judy Finnegan moments after last week's happenstance outside the post office. Successfully done!
*Another 2.5lbs green tomatoes successfully ripened using paper bag method.
*Tweaked next week's meal plans & wrote shopping list.
*Washed hair & let it dry naturally to save energy (67 days till straighteners......!)
*Finish knitting Christmas Present no.3 - only got 20 more rows to do, plus tassels.
*Sort through yarn stash to find some funky bits & pieces to start knitting first bag (Christmas Present no.4). Hopefully, I shan't need to buy any extra.
Right that's it for me, quite enough screen time, so time to get the needles clicking & watch next instalment of my Lovefilm dvd - still trying to get turnover up, to make most of our subscription.
Cheers,

Hey peeps
Hope your training went well ally
Today I:
-forgot to take a snack to work but was so busy I didn't realise anyway so snack saved fir next week
-had free lunch courtesy of work and am not really hungry as a result so probably want need to eat tonight
-declined invite to pub and instead did food shop and am sitting in sofa watching re-runs of law and order uk (Jamie bamber and Bradley Walsh - phworghhh!)
Sadly grocery shop was £47:eek: where I live we only have w88trose and m8s really so it's always pricey. Bonus is I did shop as smart as I cold and can make plenty of meals out of what I bought so may not need to do a shop next weekend
Happy Friday peeps! V quiet weekend of cleaning and tax returns for me!I want to be a writer0 -
Apologies for all the typos above - damn iPad!!!I want to be a writer0
