customs charges

ive found some items from china which i believe i will be able to sell on and make a profit, however im slightly confused with the customs charges etc i would be charged for bringing them into the uk- any help would be appreciated

Depends on the carrier, the seller will charge you a fee for postage but you might find that there will be a Country Charge when the item arrives here. It has to be paid before the items are released. It could be any amount from experience!0

The above is one of the better calculators, remember that you pay import duty and VAT on the total landed cost (ie inc any shipping and insurance) not just the value of the goods themselves.0
