Coucil tax

Hello. I can't find any info on this, so i'd like to ask if anybody knows if you can claim any overpayment in council tax for houses you no longer live in? I have had three moves since 1991 - can i claim on each one (assuming I feel I've been overcharged?

thanks

You'll need to write to the relevant council, with proof of when you moved out of an address (end of tenancy agreement - or new tenancy agreement stating when you moved into your new property, along with proof of when you started paying the new council tax), along with a copy of the CT bill where you paid it past the moving out date.

If you don't have the documents stating when you moved out the properties, then you'll have to contact previous landlords and ask for a copy.

The council should then cough up, although they're not usually known for their speed at this sort of thing!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
