Last minute credit check

Hi Experts,

Will be thankful if someone can help me.

I had my mortgage offer issued 3 weeks back. The contracts have been exchnaged today and the legal completion has been set for next thursday.

The mortgage is just on my name and my wife is not part of the application. However yesterday my wife was checking her credit profile on Experian to find her credit rating for personal loan application that she wants. She found few entries under 'Financial Associate Searches' that related to my Solicitor and mortgage lender (Nationwide). What are these checks? Has my mortgage lender also done credit check on my wife?

We know that lender might do final last minute credit check before releasing funds next week, so will they be doing any search on my wife as well (although she is not part of application)? Is it better for my wife to wait till funds are released and the apply for her loan? Can it have any impact on my application?

Do you have joint accounts or credit commitments?

If you do, searches on you will automatically include her. She is your financial associate.

Yes we just have joint account but no credit commitments together..

Do they still do full credit check on her although I am the only applicant?
