Just thought I would share this, at the time, I was quite angry, now, nothing shocks me with banks!
I recently set up my DRO in July..hurray!
I had to ring my bank to downgrade my account due to my insolvency. During the conversation, they tried to sell me a Credit Card!!
I won't name the bank, I am actually slightly embarrassed for them! And I still bank with them, obviously, basic Bank Account only!
Unbelievable huh, :rotfl: frankly, I never want debt again, other than a mortgage, one day!
Good luck to all on their Debt Free mission!

I'm not sure it is entirely the fault of the adviser you spoke to, there is a lacking in training about the debt side of things and many are actively encouraged to still attempt to sell products whether they are suitable or not (banks obviously still have not learnt from the PPI scandal).
Until banks stop using sales as part of their performance targets and go back to good old fashioned customer service only, it is something a lot of customers will have to face any time they contact their bank.
Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.0 -
Oh definately agree, totally the banks fault. The pressure they put staff under to sell, just to keep their jobs, is unfair. The gent was just following protocol!0
