Nice Cracker contents

Hi all,

I am planning on making my own crackers this year. I have some ideas of the jokes and will be purchasing the kit to make them. I am rather stumped on ideas to put inside the crackers.

I have age ranges from 70 - 4.

Any ideas?

Thanks

  • Probably not that helpfully, but when we were kids and made our own crackers, my mum used to put quality sweets in them, as really any toys are just wasted, the jokes arn't funny and as kids the only reason you play with them is for the bang lol.

OR you could miss out on gifts and just do really good hats and jokes - everyone will be getting lots of presents and so why add things which you can't guarantee will go to a specific person and so will be general gifts rather than specific presents and may well be something the recipients will be as stressed about what to do with as you seem to be about obtaining them?

  • I second the scratch cards
    also party poppers
stick on mustaches or eyebrows..or similar
verbal puzzles - or pictorial ones
(answer on one side puzzle on other)
weird facts and odd record breakers
    glow sticks
blow outs ( those tooty things with feathers on the end)
    gob stoppers
although chocolates as already suggested sounds much better...
retro sweets ( dib dabs - false teeth - cherry lips etc always starts a reminisce with the olders)
the name of someone or something you have to pretend to be until someone guesses who you are
    perfume sample tubes
chocolate liqueurs ( if you pull them at the end of the meal)

can you tell we don't usually buy crackers yet ?

    crackers are our xmas tradition...

We just use any old crackers, but alongside, there is a 'poem' funny usually, related to events in recipients life over past year - then a truly naff gift goes along with the poem, eg, someone who spends loads of time doing dishes (or should!) a spectacularly naff dishmop, or fancy marigolds, etc...a snorer - ear plugs for the partner and peg for snorer - tis great fun and an excellent way to use all that silly funny stuff that gets brought out as stocking fillers...

We always make our own crackers. I put things like lipsticks, miniature booze bottles, and chocs. We also put a £1 lottery scratchcard in ours,I won £5 last year!:T
