Dual Layer 16x DVD Writer @ 29.99 inc P&P

Another one pointing at Amazon - had a quick look around at other prices but they are all closer to the £40 mark when you figure in P&P aswell (which is free with amazon).

Model is 'Ultima' (which I found it made by Artec - not bad at all)

I want to get a DVD writer to go with my laptop, does it really matter if it is an external or internal dvd writer? Couldn't I use an internal as an external???

    Thanks for any feedback
    I :heart2: Waitrose
  • You can, but you would need an external drive caddy for it - would work out cheaper just to buy an external writer

Any good suggestions for a cheap external writer then? pleeeease :T
  • I stand corrected - it doesn't work out cheaper, just done a check of all the major places and it would work out around £30 more.

Therefore, best bet would be to get an external enclosure - likethis , now that one has both firewire and usb, they have a usb only one for £2 less, but I think its worth the extra for firewire.

That would bring the total cost to around £50, give or take a pound or two for delivery at ebuyer (assuming you stick the writer mentioned in the original post in it).
