Anybody else having problems in North Down/Newtownards area?
I have tried many of their recommended frequencies on FM but reception is very poor especially in Newtownards where the station is located
I have tried different car radios, no difference
I was in Cavan town, ROI (100 miles from N'ards) last week and it was loud & clear!!

Its not just downtown but nearly all stations have been affected.
Was told it was since the big DAB reshuffle in September (loads of new DAB stations added to NI)0 -

I like most people haven't got DAB in the motor
I thought the point of commercial radio was to get more local listeners

DAB reshuffle would have no effect on FM reception.
Downtown doesn't have a licence to broadcast on FM in the greater Belfast (including Newtownards) area.
Non DAB frequencies are as follows:-
Downtown Radio on FM/AM
1026 kHz AM (Medium Wave) - Antrim, Armagh, Ballyclare, Ballymena, Banbridge, Bangor, Belfast, Carrickfergus, Comber, Cookstown, Downpatrick, Dungannon, Larne, Lisburn, Lurgan, Maghera, Magherafelt, Newcastle, Newry, Newtownards, Portadown, Portaferry
96.4 MHz FM - Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Dungiven, Limavady, Portrush, Portstewart
96.6 MHz FM - Armagh, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Omagh
102.3 MHz FM - Antrim, Ballymena, Clough Mills, Magherafelt, Randalstown, Rasharkin, Templepatrick
102.4 MHz - Londonderry, Strabane
103.4 MHz FM - Newcastle (Mourne)
103.1 MHz FM - Newry/ South Down
97.1 MHz FM - Larne (East Antrim)0 -
That explains it, thanks BigAl
