Hi,
I have just inherited a kenwood chef 701 I have downloaded the instruction manual but I can't seem to find how to make the hooks etc. turn. The bit for the liquidiser turns when I turn it on but can't see where to turn the power over to make the paddle etc. turn. I am thinking that there must be a switch somewhere to make the power switch from one attatchment site to another but I'm b******* if I can see how to do this. Please help someone as I am dying to make some bread in it.
Thanks In Anticipation,
Shelagh

When I use my A707 Kenwood Major, as soon as I switch it on all the bits turn at the same time. As there's no other switches on it I thought this was what was supposed to happen. Maybe your planetary mixing bit just isn't working?I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0

Are you sure you are attaching the bits properly? It can be a bit fiddly. You need to put them in at the right angle then turn them until they click home. Sorry if this is obvious. With mine though both bits work simultaneously and you don't switch from one to the other0

It sounds like your machine has a fault, the beater should go around when you switch on, there's nothing to adjust between using the liquidizer and the beater0

I have had 2 Kenwood Chefs. There is only 1 switch and when you turn that all the parts that would take extra add ons turn round and spin. I think you have a problem with yours. There are alot of places that will service your Kenwood for you although not sure how much they would cost.
Somewhere on here there is a picture of somebody whom hd taken theirs completely apart...the pictures were amazing especially the before and after pictures.0 -

Hi Shelagh
I'm somewhat in the same situation as you in that I also just inherited a venerable Kenwood Chef A701A but it came with the remains of what used to be a User Manual before it was savaged by my mother's dog!
In your input to the forum you mentioned that you had downloaded the instruction manual - it would assist me a lot if you could let me have the site address where you downloaded the manual . I have tried Kenwood but they don't even list the model any more (as far as I can see). Many thanks for your help.
Kind regards

Ooh, can I butt in and ask a couple of questions please....I've just been very kindly gifted a Kenwood Chef from Freecycle. How do I find out which model it is? And what's the K shaped beater used for??I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

http://www.kenwoodworld.com/uk/customer_manuals.php will give you instructions I think??0

Noozan Hi,
the make number is on the base of the machine and the K beaters are for beating eggs etc go to the link above, for manuals and the manual for the kenwood chef will tell you all you need to know.
Best wishes

Hi Kvetcher,
I found the full instruction manual plus loads of recipes at http://www.kenwoodservice.co.uk/instructions/A701instructions.htm
hope this helps it was posted to me from Malamar and I was chuffed with it. By the way everyone who has replied to my original post I have a problem!! one of the cogs on the gear mechanism is broken so I am awaiting a little man getting back to me to try to replace it as the part is now obsolete apparently. So if anyone has a 701 and would like to sell the part to me I would be very grateful indeed.
