The 360 Elite (already released in the US) is starting to appear on UK websites (play.com, amazon). This will probably be priced at the same as the original premium pack but has the benefit of HDMI output and a 120GB hard drive. Even if you don't want this model there may be bigger premium pack reductions at the time of its release as retailers try to get shut of what consumers will see as 'the old model'.0

Make sure wherever you get it from has a decent return policy, you'll probably need it. I got my first one from Boots online, died after 5 months and I got a refund at the store on the high street.
Got the second one at HMV, that one lasted 4 months, died, and then I got a full refund.
I've now got a PS3. Not too many games yet but it looks promising. (and the fan noise is a whole lot quieter than the 360). 360 definitely has the games at the moment but it's no good if you need to restart them every few months.

I totally agree, make sure the returns policy is a good one, the older ones kept over heating, the newer ones are better, they've worked out the faults and its a rarity for them to have to be returned (OH sells them & best mate works where they're sent to be fixed).
As of yet I'm not all that impressed with the PS3, not worth its money yet, shall see when more games come out.You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0
