Dampness found on underside of babies cot!

Hi,
Myself and Girlfriend were building our 18 month old little boys first bed and when removing the cot found that it was riddled with mould, spores, dampness and God knows what else on the underside...
We have had issues with dampness condensation for over 3 years now and have reported it to the house builder (within the 2 year guarantee period). We are currently in a resolution situation between the house builder and NHBC as the house builder does not want to take responsibility for this.
This new development of the cot has mightily p***** me off and upset my Girlfriend.
We were hoping for some advice on who else we could take this to apart from NHBC. We find it horrendous that the house builder could've prevented this if they took responsibility and took action.
Any advice would be appreciated and if anyone knows how to upload photos, I'll show the extent of the mould!

What is causing the damp? It could be due to a problem with the building e.g. Gutter/roof or could be due to lifestyle e.g, drying clothes indoors, not opening windows regularly0

NHBC have examined the windows and concluded house builders are liable as the gaps between window and seal are greater than expected.
We live in a ground floor flat.0 -
Sounds like that would allow greater airflow and thus less damp? Unless rain water is coming through to the inside? Are you sure there isn't some other problem that's been overlooked?0

The gap between window and seal was allowing water ingress and, a lot of the time, we would wake up to icicles forming on our sill. We got the panelling on the inside replaced but the dampness returned after a while.
We believe that the window is too small as is the bedroom and with 2 bodies within this probably adds to the problem.
Any thoughts of who else the house builder could be reported to for their lack of interest in the problem?0 -

Inner sill? Sounds like serious lack of heating and ventilation.0
