I have taken stuff back to all manner of shops where I havent purchased the product from them. I start by saying "I bought this the other day" before asking for an exchange (never a refund, occasionally store credit) . I never say 'I bought this from you' so am not lying to them. If they choose to assume I bought it from that shop, I dont argue.

I always find that starting with a big friendly smile really helps too, it puts the CS off their guard as most people complain to them, and then thy want to help as it makes their day a but nicer.

This doesnt always work btw.

No they won't. I was informed of that about a month ago. They won t take anything back without a reciept.:(
