hello to everyone kind enough to read this.
My husband and i have been in a vountary repayment agreement with payplan since 2001 and in that time the debt has grown form £35,000 to £65,000
we are now trying to go bankrupt as he has just lost his job and if we dont do it one of the companies we owe money to will do it for us. We have recently sold our house to a landlord and now rent it back it was on the market for £110,00 and we sold it for £96,000 will this cause a problem when we go bankrupt?
Also we want to do a joint application but the forms seem to be for one person only does that mean we have to do it sepaeratly and pay twice?
please if you have any advice it would be most appreciated
Thanks
Smotyn

Hi Smotyn - The OR will, almost certainly, want to know the full details about your recent house sale, specifically if there was any 'equity' and what you did with this.
I would, wherever possible, reccomend self-declaration, rather than waiting for one of your creditors to petition for your bankruptcy, as you will have more control over the situation.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
