Can you check the Electoral Roll online?

Both my husband and I are registered with Noddle, I noticed a couple of days ago that his states that he's not on the electoral roll. We are 99% sure that he is as a) I am and its likely we would have registered at the same time and b) he gets those voting cards through the post? I wondered if there is anyway he can check online that he is actually registered and the date that he registered?

Thanks xx

  • Did you register recently? Sometimes the CRAs take a while to update.

You could check equifax or experian too, the £2 option. May be a Noddle error.

Failing that you might need to ring the council.

  • Noddle is full of errors.

Both my son and I have been on the Electoral Register for three years at our present address (since the day after we moved in) and Noddle is showing us both as "No record of electoral registration."

I have contacted them and they said we needed to prove to them we are on the roll by getting a letter from the council and sending it to them. I replied that it's up to them to check the Electoral Register properly.

You can't check the register online but the edited register is held at your local library. You know you have to register every year? You should have got a new form a couple of weeks ago. You can always go online and register again just in case - Google Name of Local Authority and Electoral Register. It may be that you address is on Noddle as No 23 and on the register as Flat 4, No 23 - that sort of thing sometimes confuses the databases

Or you can call your local council. But if he is definitely registered you should really go to the CRA and get it to do the chasing for you. There should be a facility to submit an online query about your report. We all carry copies of the electoral roll so can easily check for you.

  • There's loads of sites you can check the ER on, although you'll generally have to pay.. I've not found anywhere you can do it for free yet. ukphonebook.com lets you do it for about 50p a go.
