Utv broadband?

I am seriously considering moving to UTV Broadband ISP, due to the increase in my bill with BT. (My broadband is rising to £27.65 for super fast broadband, as I cant get Infinity)!

I have made a few phone calls and by far UTV is the cheapest with line rental, calls and Broadband included for £25 for 9 months, going up to £30 for a further 9 months.

Can anyone tell me of their experiences with UTV as a phone/broadband provider (both good and bad).

I have read quite a few negative reviews, but they all appear to be from people in the Republic.

Any views/comments would be really helpful.

Thanks as always to you all.

  • I have been with UTV broadband for 5 or 6 years now (mnaybe more) and can't fault them at all. I dont have my calls with them, but can't fault their service - and the engineers are always willing to talk me through any faults I may have. Very helpful, and no complaints at all. My broadband didn't work when I first got it put in, but an engineer was out the following day and didn't leave until he had it sorted - unlike my neighbour who was continually messed about by BT

  • I was with UTV for a couple of years and was very happy with them. I moved recently to Tesco because they were offering unlimited broadband cheaper than it would have been to get the same package off UTV. Tesco have UK call centres.

I was glad to leave BT as the service was bad and they were too expensive.

Guys. The lines are all owned by BT so if you're unhappy with the actual performance of your broadband then you're not going to benefit no matter who you change to. If it's a cheaper price or better service you're after then investigate Plusnet. They're actually owned by BT but couldn't be more different. Much cheaper start-up price, cheaper monthly payments and a fantastic customer service desk and technical support. No foreigners. Just friendly UK voices exercising a lot more commons sense and politeness than I'm used to coming across in this day and age.
