Hi all things have been extremely tight over the summer period as I am a supply teacher if I don't work I don't get paid great. Since September work has still been few and far between. Due to this I have contacted an Debt Charity for Help they have looked at my situation and have come up with a budget, best bit is they are writing to my creditors to tell them of my situation.
Now I have to wait and see what they say.
Have also been advised to open a new bank account and have everything transferred so old bank can not swallow any wages.
So with a teenage daughter to care for as a single parent the long process begins.
Tomorrow I have an appointment with a new bank for an account so wish me luck.

Best of luck to you - it is definitely rough out there right now. Have you thought about advertising as a private/homework tutor? I know a lot of parents who hate doing homework with their kids as it becomes a bit of a battle.

I agree with trying to 'up your income' from private tutoring. If you enjoy working with children could you maybe concider child minding or foster care respite for the holiday periods? Its not omething to jump into for purely financial reasons but if its your area of expertise could be worth looking into.

More than 5 years by the sound of it.

Any reason why you couldn't go bankrupt and be discharged in 12 months?
