Woolwich retention products.

Im thinking of jumping ship (again) and moving from my woolwich 2.69 tracker (out of the tie in now).
Their best 5 year fix was 2.88% with £499 fee.(loyalty mortgage, £999 fee for standard)

However on the woolwich intermediaries website there is a product list of mortgages and I have a question.

http://www.woolwichintermediaries.co.uk/Mortgages/IP1242639464533

The best 5 year fix I can see there is under the title "Rate Switch"
It shows 5 year fix as 2.69% with £999 fee.

So 2 questions....what do they mean "rate switch" and how do I get that mortgage. Can I just go direct...ask for retention product and they will offer me this or is it just via broker?

thanks
