  • Lazy Days.....

Well i've had the lazyiest day ever, much needed though, ive spent the day snuggled up reading a brilliant blog i stumbelled upon about a women paying off her debt, living a simpler life and saving for a move to Portugal, very inspiring and before i new it 5 hours had wizzed by:eek:. just updated my snowball for this month and ive managed to pay off £1033 so £67 short of my target for October but still 8 days to go untill my new financial month starts on 8/11 so who knows what may happen.

Ive finally wrapped my ebay purchases that i sold last week.. i must post them tommorrow, not much else achieved today but a nsd so thats something.

Things i'm gratefull for today (pinched from another diary, hope you dont mind farnesbarne)

1, A Lovely relaxing day, a long lie in and breakfast in bed!
2, discovering a new blog, and spending time just reading
3, My loved ones safe and well.
4, Updating my snowball for the 1st time and seeing the numbers get a bit smaller
5, Eating well and in moderation, have made inroads into the pile of fruit and veg i bought on my last shop.

  • My snowball isn't snowballing?.....

Playing around with my snowball last night i noticed that after updating this months payments of £1033 that it has taken this full amount from the bottom line figure and not shown any interest incurred this month, i only have 2 cards out of 7 at 0%. i have checked and rechecked all my figures, can anyone help???

  • I've worked out the problem with my snowball, i didnt realise that i had to add the interest on myself as a transaction (duhh). Anyway i had £300 sitting in a savings account that I couldn't decide what to do with, i've been torn between paying it off the debt or trying to build up some savings. i'm feeling completly motivated at the moment so took the bull by the horns and paid it off my highest interest card.:j. This leaves a balence of £650 on this card which i am confident i can pay off when i get paid on 8/11. so this will be my 1st card cleared!!

bit of a spendy day today but all in budget.
    postage - £15.85
    birthday card - £2.25
    bread/milk/pkt of biscuits. £3.88.
    tv licence - £145.50
    gas/electric bill - £107.15 (down £31 on same time l/y)
    total spends -£274.63.

I've just done a stocktake of freezer contents and i have enough for 8 evening meals, enough cereal and tinned stuff so there will be no need for my usual weekly routine shop where i spend £100 plus. There will be a few things, mainly lunch stuff but i plan on spending no more than £20. I should then be able to send a little more to the debt!!

    Things i'm gratefull for today,

1, a nice relaxing day pottering around
2, washing all done and line dried
3, a beef and tomatoe cassarole bubbling away in the slow cooker.
4, being focused on my debts/money and confident I can tackle this.
    5, feeling content!

  • i've had quite a few spendy days, £30 for dads birthday present and spent much more on my top up shop than i'd planned to £70, was quite shocked esp as there was nothing to make even an evening meal out of, i really need to get better at this its the one area that i feel could make a big difference to my debt repayments. Tried to apply for a 0% balence transfer but as i cut my card up they now need to resend me my card and then i can apply (it will be getting cut up again straight away) tinkered with snowball just to see how much i could reduce my dfd by, it really is an eyeopener and is very good at keeping me focused. 6 days till pay day and i have £14.50 to last me.
