UHT Vs Powdered Milk expiry dates

I'm not entirely sure where to post this, if this is the wrong board please feel to move it.

Bit of a random question...
Out of powdered milk and UHT milk which has the longest expiry dates? Or can they be kept for roughly the same length of time?

Thanks. :)

Its a personal thing but I have often used both well past their dates.

Would it be the same with Soya milk?

I'm building up a small stockpile, and want the items to have the longest dates possible incase I don't use the items this winter, then I can roll them over to next years stock pile.

UHT and powdered milk don't have expiry dates as such, only "Best before" dates. (In other words, the dates are arbitrary & don't really mean anything much!)

UHT milk does begin to go off once it is opened, so if you only want small amounts at a time, probably powdered is best, as you can make up just a small quantity.

Personally, I keep supplies of both. If you want powdered milk for drinking, it is best made up a little while in advance. If you drink it immediately upon mixing it, it tastes a little bit powdery, but after a little time, at least half an hour, you can't tell the difference between it & fresh skimmed milk.
