Tips on winning Twitter competitions

To win something on twitter you need to be a blogger and write nice posts about the products. I'm sure you'll win soon.
That's my opinion but have a look at twitter winners the same names over and over again so it's not just a luck but good self promotion and marketing.2013 - £650
2014 - £842
Wins: Superdry jacket, RedLetterDays £50 gift card, Folio Society Diary, digital subscr MCMag, Benefit+Asos goodies, £300 holiday money, deck chairs, a book, £100 from Visa, Take a Break £25+£50

Gosh, it sounds like it might not be worth my while to enter Twitter comps at all. I'm not a blogger and I don't have any followers on Twitter because all they'd see is my comp entries. I am selective about what I enter and 'share' on Facebook for the reasons Liz545 stated. I guess for every comp tweet I do, I could tweet something myself just to show I'm a person, even if no one else will see it; and I suppose I could write on the walls of some of the companies too. If nothing still comes of it after a while, I'll give it up.
Thanks for the tips everyone, and congrats on the win Liz - that's a nice one.0 -
In case you were not aware, there is a thread here:-

where you can find a few fellow compers to follow and chat to, rather than just chat to yourself and they will hopefully follow you back.0 -
i regular use twitter anyway but have only won once so its prob not to do with followers but suppose it wouldnt hurtWhat goes around-comes around0

Thanks again guys. I might go visit that thread - it feels rather odd to be tweeting to only myself0

I've won quite a lot of lovely prizes on twitter the smaller companies definitely look at your profile I think and are a bit anti-compers but I think with the big companies it is random2019 wins- Box of brownies,0

Thank you. I have individualised my profile more and have been adding at least one tweet for every comp entry. I hadn't even bothered to put up a profile picture before. It should at least be clear now that I'm not a bot0

I have been tweeting for the last 4 years and have over 180,000 tweets, i have won in the region of 300+ comps on twitter but it is something you need to keep at, the odd tweet here and there will not bring you a win. I generally tweet the original comp tweet unless it is something i would really love to win then as long as the rules of that comp let you i tweet it as many times as i can. I have found over the years that certain companies only give prizes out to Bloggers, but i avoid them now, it's all about trial and error. There are a few companies that don't like to give prizes to compers, but what they don't realise is that we are the one's that are giving them free advertising by tweeting their name. I have been blocked by a couple of companies from tweeting because i am a comper. But i am also a customer, many wins has seen me return to that company if it was a product i liked and bought it from them, so to block me is their loss!
Keep at it, there is plenty to be had and shared, don't give in at the first hurdle. If your struggling ask for help there are plenty of us on there that are more than happy to help.
