Compers News - Is it worth subscribing?

I did a search but could only find a listing for their Advent competition last year.

I just wondered what your views are of Compers News? Is it worth subscribing or are, as I suspect, most of the competitions listed on here anyway.

Surely MSE is more up to date and current than a monthly magazine or do they have comps listed that are exclusive to them?

Apologises if I'm repeating a subject, I'm sure it must have been covered on here somewhere before. If it has could someone point me in the right thread direction please?

I've had this in the past and believe me, every comp in there is already on here! I would say stick to mse

hi, years ago I subscribed to compers news & obviously cancelled my subscription when I found lots of free comp sites on the web,
tbh I would save your money & enter through whichever comp site you prefer to be it mse or any of the other free ones x

I subscribed for a 3 month trial period thinking it must be offering something special if you had to pay for it.

I actually found it quite badly laid out and there were no comps that weren't on MSE - except for the purchase necessary ones. I certainly didn't win any more by comping from there but that could just be down to my own lack of luck

If you have money to spare, give it a go and see what you think. I prefer MSE though and it is FREE! :j

That's what I suspected, it was just you hear people (on the bumf) say how great it is and how much they win (big prizes like cars) compared to anywhere else which, of course, is to get you to spend money with them. Not saying that they haven't won great prizes, but all you have to do is look at IWIWIW to see shed loads of brilliant stuff being won everyday.

I would also think it must be quite labourious comping from a whole magazine rather than being able to click on links!

It's not just a print magazine, there is an online site which gets updated regularly and has links etc.

Some people clearly like it, we're all different. I just prefer not to have to spend money! Plus, you have as much chance of winning whether you enter from MSE, Prizefinder, Compers News or any other comping site.

Remember that not everyone on MSE actually shouts about their wins - in fact, there are plenty of MSE compers who aren't actually registered with the site but just lurk. So I'd say it would be impossible to statistically prove whether one site has more winners than others.
