Cooked a leg of lamb today. Stripped it of all the meat, and wondered what to do with the bone. Any ideas? Many thanks

My mum makes a lovely lentil soup using a lamb bone. Put it into a saucepan (hers is about 4 litre size) add in 500g red lentils, 1 sliced leek, 3 good sized grated carrots,1 large grated sweet potato and enough water to come to about an inch below the top of the pan. Bring to the boil then turn down to simmer for about an hour. Skim off any scum while it's cooking. Remove the lamb bone before serving up and enjoy with lots of crusty bread!0

Depending on how much meat is on it if any either boil up to make stock (make sure the marrow comes out to flavour the stock, or hand in the garden for the birds).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

I buy lamb stock cubes without a moments thought - damme, I could make my own! Not that we have lamb very often! I cant believe the price of it, considering that here in Wales the sheep outnumber the people 3 to 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0

Got home from the pub quiz last night and my kitchen smelled gorgeous, the bits left on the bone just fell off.I now have three litres of lamb broth to portion up for the freezer this morning that cost almost nothing:):)0
