I also question the original price of £99.99
Challenge Xtreme Hammer Drill - 18V (more power than 14.4V) - usual price £34.99
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7114315.htm
Challenge Xtreme Cordless Screwdriver - 4.8V - usual price £12.99
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7114683.htm
£34.99 + £12.99 = £47.98 (for a slightly higher powered cordless drill)
So how is the set £99.99 reduced to £44.99?!?
£44.99 is it's usual price judging from similar products

I don't think its a bad deal. Try find a better drill set for less. Its not worth £100, but is £45. It came with the screwdriver set, drill, 2 batteries, seperate cases, and 50 screw and drill bits, which you don't get if you buy seperate. I tried the screwdriver out and its strong enough to take the hinges off my door.0 -
I'm not having a go at you OP, I'm just fed up with Argos selling a £49.99 set (as stated in the their previous price information), which then miraculously goes up to £99.99 so that it can be sold as "half-price" to customers in the "sale".
It may be a good deal at £45, but it's only a £5 discount, not a £55 discount as implied by Argos.
And as for finding a better deal, personally I'd pay the extra £2.99 and get the two items that I posted, as it's a higher powered drill and higher powered screwdriver for an extra 3 quid. Well actually, I wouldn't buy Challenge at all, I use Bosch (20 year old dril going strongl) and De Walt drill bits (De Walt Extreme 2 are only £8.99 from Screwfix, they go through my solid walls like it's butter)

Good spot guys, they just artificially inflate prices to trick consumers into believing they have a good deal... Scumbag superstores...Living off £450 per month is easy...! If you aren't single! :j0
