My husband used to buy the Basic Sainburys Cappuccino but the have stopped making it.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to find something similar without trying every other brand on the market......he definitely doesn't want sachets.

I've just looked on My Supermarket and found that none of the supermarkets listed sell instant cappuccino in any other form than sachets. So unless Morrisons or Lidl (who aren't listed there) sell it by the jar it looks like you are out of luck.
I've found a website which shows how to make it yourself without any expensive equipment. In fact all you need is a sealable jar, coffee (instant will do), milk, sugar to taste and something to sprinkle on top eg cocoa powder. It only takes about ninety seconds to make and looks dead easy.

I can recommend this gadget then you just use normal coffee. 60 seconds to froth the milk by hand then 90 seconds in the microwave will produce Costa style froth.

May be cheaper in the long run if you drink lots .0 -

I use a frothing jug like the bodum one but its metal and goes on the hob. Its brilliant - better than my £120 gaggia machine. Never tried the instant stuff so now idea how it compares to that thoughPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Are those frothing jugs similar to a cafetiere? Can't see the gubbins for the froth in the pic) just thinking if so, presumably any old cafetiere would do?0

It's a bit like the cafetiere , but has fine plastic mesh rather than a metal strainer. Pumping the mesh through the milk is what gets the air into it0 -
If you have a cafetiere you can use that, It works really well.Come on you Irons0
