Venues in Nottinghamshire

Hi, I'm looking for a venue that will allow us to DIY our wedding - own caterers, own food, own decorations etc. It doesn't have to be posh but it does have to have character. A barn or a village hall with wooden beams would be perfect. Needs to accommodate 150-200 people.

I know this sounds strange but it needs to be in reasonable distance of a hospital. I want my favourite aunt there but her health is poor and I need to know we can get her help if she needs it.

Also not too expensive please. Found a wonderful place but it's £2000 just for the hall and you even have to hire tables and chairs:eek:

Any ideas will be gratefully received.

The Tudor Barn in Church Warsop is excellent, and can accomodate 120 people in one room and 30 in the adjacent room. It is a beautiful building and very reasonable for a DIY reception, it is also next to one of the most beautiful churches in Nottinghamshire (in my opinion).

The it is about 7/8 miles from the nearest hospital. But you can make it there in about 20 minutes. And I'm sure the Ambulance response time is under 10. (A Friend of mine had a car accident about a mile away and the ambulance reached them in 7 minutes!).

its in Derbyshire not Nottinghamshire but was somewhere I came across when I was researching venues that I thought would be lovely.

Allows you to do all that you want and sleeps a lot of people too. Not sure on nearest hospital etc.

Tudor Barn looks fab - not sure it will be big enough but definitely worth a look.

Knockerdown farm looks stunning but unfortunately way outside of our budget.

Still open to more suggestions.
