Can I become a maths tutor or teacher with A level maths, or would I need to take on further study. I am not necessarily looking for a career, I enjoy the subject and would like to teach GCSE level or below.
Would appreciate any advice.
many thanks

These are two totally separate things.
How to become a teacher was covered off by the previous link. If you want to just be a private tutor then there is no formal qualifications required but you should have a CRB check if working with kids (though I am sure many advertising on Gumtree etc dont).0 -

As above really - you can advertise locally in shop windows, etc., without a teaching degree. There are various tutor sites online that you can also register with (some free, some with a nominal charge). You'll need to decide if you're going to them, or them to you (having them come to your house means you'd probably need liability insurance to cover yourself). I would recommend a CRB check though (about £35 I think), as it offers that degree of reassurance to parents, and will probably help you get more work opportunities. Word of mouth is brilliant - get a few clients, and it should lead to more. Good luck

Clearly, you're some good at learning maths. Are you any good at teaching it to other people? That's the tricky bit.Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0
