Hi Everyone,
Hope all is well?
I went BR on the 30th May 07 but today i received a summons for court for my council tax. I put my council tax on my BR form. Any advice?
Finally got my date for OR Interview!! 21st June at 4.30pm feeling a bit nervous, but the fella did sound ok. Looking forward to getting it over and done with now.......
Cheers everyone

I would telephone the OR's office on Monday to let them know what has happened. I would also telephone the council tax office to give them your BR details. It's only the middle of June, & it's conceivable that they may not have been informed by the OR yet that you're BR. However, the debt existed before your hearing, so it should still be covered by it. I think the summons gives you a choice of responding to it in writing or on the court date - if that's the case, you could also send a copy of your BR order to the court with a covering letter.
The key thing is not to do nothing. Although the summons will probably be cancelled once the council know that you're BR, if you allow a judgement to be made before you or the OR have spoken to them, that will be much harder to get removed from your record.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."
