Hi all
I need some advice regarding cooking frozen beefburgers. I am having a party tomorrow night for 25 people. I am planning on having a bbq and was wondering if it would be safe to part cook the frozen burgers in the oven on the afternoon and then finish them on the bbq on the night? Is this a no-no or providing they are cooked to the required temp it would be ok??
Many thanks
Sue

The big problem with part cooking meat is it doesn't kill the bacteria and then it will be sat there multiplying until you are ready to re heat them I wouldn't like to risk it. If I were you I would just defrost the burgers in the fridge(move them from the freezer to the fridge in the morning) and cook them fresh on the BBQ from chilled. If they are quite thin you may only need to defrost them for an hour before at room temp then cook. The important thing with any BBQs is cook over the coals when the flames die right down and it is very hot.
enjoy your BBQ

I always cook my burgers under the grill first then put them on the bbq to finish off. I don't leave them in between though.

I just defroast them in fridge and cook from chilled, doesnt take long to defrost or cook.
Do this with most bbq items sausage ribs ect.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
If they are actually shop bought frozen burgers rather than home made ones that you have just froze then I would just cook them on the BBQ from frozen. That's what is says on the packets anyway.0

Yep most shop bought can be cooked on a BBQ from frozen (check the box) I usually do the same as dlb, defrost them then cook them on BBQ, don't take very long at all. Personally I wouldn't part cook anything then leave it, would either cook through then reheat on BBQ or not bother myself. One day I might be more organised...........
