Home Bargains comp - More chance of a £20k lottery win?

Just been looking at this week's "win £100 worth of shopping at Home Bargains" - I'm always amazed at how many entries they have and this one currently has almost 40,000 likes - and it hit me that you could well have more chance of winning one of the 1,000 £20k raffle prizes on this week's lotto!!! Apparently Lotto sales are now down to around 16 million a week, so by my reckoning that gives you around one in 16,000 chance of winning one of those raffle prizes - compared to one in 40,000 of winning a trolley full of HB shopping that you didn't even know you needed
Just thought I'd share that useless snippet of info.

Also on normal Wed & Sat draws there are only 50 raffle winners
It is only the first 2 Saturday draws where there are 1000 raffle winners0 -

Sales were around 23,521,220 for the first £2 sat so about 23,500 to 1 for a raffle prize - on a normal sat they expect the odds to be 320,000 and on a wed 180,000.
(Ticket sales dropped about a third for the first £2 wed draw and the new reduced prize for 5 + bonus didn't even reach £18,000.)0 -
Oh I know, I'm well aware that they're not having 1,000 winners every week, it's just a publicity stunt to try and keep people paying and playing. I wasn't saying anything about lotto odds in general, I was more stating surprise at the kind of figures that are entering for the H&B vouchers tbh, and the low odds of actually winning that!
Well done to you mummyfrugal on your win, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!0 -

I wonder if the HB ones are getting some sort of automated/group entries, they can leap to 20,000 plus likes in under an hour of a comp being posted and end up with over 40,000 while Iceland, also a like for £100, get less than 18,000 entries.0
