Hello to all,
My partner has lost his job and we are on benefits been claiming now for 2 months and really struggling too make payments with littlewoods are asking each month £465.
when my partner was working we was stable to make these payments the catalogue debt has grown and grown on us since i token it out in 2010 it seem easy to pay for things at the time slowly every month leaving money to do other things. But the debt is at its limit with BNPL being most of it total £5000 we not got this months bill in full my partner has been over our finance and we can not make this months payment its really getting depressed for us as things don't look like they going to get better soon.
we are looking for advice on what we can do and what to expect.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum
Given that you say this isn't likely to be a short term problem then it may be useful to seek advice from one of the debt advice charities.
Is this your only unsecured debt?
How are you paying it currently? is it by DD or manual payment? If by DD then contact your bank to cancel the DD as there is no point in being charged for it bouncing.
If you cannot afford to meet your repayments then write to them and offer a token payment whilst you seek advice - template letterDate
Dear Sir/Madam
Re:− Account/Reference Number ACC NO
I would like to inform you that I am having difficulties raising the monthly repayment of XXX due to YOUR PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES. I am seeking help from [DEBT CHARITY NAME] and intend to shortly produce a statement of affairs / repayment plan.
While I seek advice, can I ask you to suspend enforcement action on this account for at least 28 days, and also charges and interest? I am aware that you have a good reputation for going beyond the Banking Codes minimum requirements to deal sympathetically with individuals in trouble.
Can you also send me any policy documents / information leaflets etc you produce for someone in my circumstances?
Yours Faithfully
