I was under the impression most police forces wouldn't do you for anything less than 35mph in a 30 zone to comply with acpo guidelines (speedlimit + 10%+2mph)
That said there only guidelines -may have been done myself last night in merseyside at 8pm by TAllivan on southport roadin bootle, clock said 35mph when I saw it and breaked

I went on one last week (except mi e cost £90.... Things are obviously more expensive here in Notts). Anyway we were all told categorically that it was an awareness course, that anyone can attend them ,not just people caught speeding, you did not have to declare it to anyone. It does stay on the PNC for five years though so if you speed during that time it's straight points.'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.

Can someone give me some advice
I recently thought i could make a late amber light but stupidly i didnt and ran a red light. The camera ontop of the traffic light flashed me twice. This week i recieved a letter saying i was doing 32mph in a 30mph zone. Do i now face losing my license as i only passed my test 6 months ago? And does anyone know if the 10% + 2mph guideline still exists.0 -

Key word. Guideline only, they don't have to stick to it. Speeding is an absolute offence (you are either going faster then the limit or you aren't).
Sorry but if you admit you tried to be an 'amber gambler' when you knew the concequences then there will be little sympathy but you could try pepipoo to see if there is any way you can avoid losing your license.

Some insurers are now asking if you have been on a speed awareness course. Not sure how they would find out if you lied - they do not have access to the PNC and afaik it is not marked on your license.
NB: I am not advocating lying in this case, just playing devils advocate.
It wouldn't even show up on the PNC or with DVLA so they would have no way of finding out."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I think if it was me I would be contesting it and asking for calibration report...most cameras seem to be set to flash at 34 mph to avoid the 10% guideline.
Theres websites out there that will help you ..can't remember the name of one ..anyone ??
Interesting coincidence in an article today about the new laws for next year though
