moorcroft letter...

Hi all,

Just wondering if I should respond to this letter? I don't usually respond to them, but this one says if I dont they may put my payments up....
I have been paying £50 per month for some time and make extra payments when I can to bring balance down.

The letter...

Moorcroft Debt Recovery Limited continually monitors all credit reference agency activity for account review and collection purposes.

We have recently been advised by Call Credit that there has been a possible change with regard to your credit file and the information on it. As a result of this we would ask that you contact us to allow us to review the repayment arrangement that is currently in place and to ensure it remains appropriate to your circumstances.

Please make contact with us in order to ensure the information we hold is correct. Failure to make contact may result in your account being reviewed based on the information we hold and may increase your monthly repayment.

Should you require further help or advice, please be aware there are several other free options that are avaialble to you.

I do plan to pay this balance off very soon, like in the next 3 or 4 months, but I want that to be on my terms (when I have extra money) not by them putting my payments up.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks x

How are you paying them? by standing order? if so then they can't put the payment up.

You could either ignore or you could write to state that your circumstances haven't changed (if that is the case) and that you can still currently only afford £50 a month.

If you have been making frequent overpayments then that may be why they think you can afford more (or perhaps you have partially settled some other accounts which are showing on callcredit).

doubt they have even looked at your credit file, its a standard letter.

I've had a few like that and I can tell from the contents they have never seen my file...they are trying it on

    Its by direct debit..

Ive fully paid off all of my accounts, this is the last one :)

I plan to make overpayments, but just want it to be when I can afford rather than being tied into a large payment monthly.

    Thanks

    Yep.

If there's not much left to pay, then they won't do much. By the time they got any court action sorted it would be paid anyhow.

If they take more than they should via DD without telling you 10 days in advance, then you can get an immediate refund from your bank via the DD guarantee.

So chill out and well done on paying so much off :)

And if you want to annoy them send them a CCA request. A £1 well spent as it will cost them more than that to comply with it.

Don't contact them, and frankly if I was you I wouldn't pay them a penny.

Having read some of your other posts and your very abusive thread yesterday - now deleted I see, the op would be very wise to take any and all advise you may give with a skip load of salt.
