Writing a notice of county court claim letter

Not sure where else this fits, so hope it's OK in this forum.
I recently ordered a team football kit at a cost of £450, paying up front by debit card. Two months later, it became clear the company I had used had no way of completing this order, and so I cancelled the order by email, requesting a refund.
For the past five days I have been trying to contact the company to arrange this refund but I am fobbed off at reception and can get no further. My emails are ignored.
It has been brought to my attention that this company has had two CCJs against it upheld in the past six weeks for similar amounts. For this reason, I am not willing to wait any longer in case the whole firm goes down the tubes - and my cash with it.
My intention is to write to them giving them three days to initiate a refund, and to inform them that if this does not happen I will commence a county court claim.
What I would find useful is any help in writing this letter. I have looked online for sample letters of this type, but have not found any, and I would prefer not to have to pay a solicitor to draft what should be a fairly simple letter. Can anyone give me any advice or point me towards any useful links?

Before contemplating court action ask your bank to try a chargeback.
I know you paid by debit card rather than a credit card but you might get lucky.
Please note that if you do commence legal action you will have to pay the court fee and even if you win (and they go bust) there is no guarantee that you will get anything back.
I would be onto your local paper - tell them the story - let them take a photo of the 'sad' team without a new kit - and see what response the bad publicity does to them.
If they are going down the chute anyway it won't make a difference but you never know somebody else might step in and donate a team kit !0 -
Raf - try this - I have assumed it's a limited company?
[name of director or company secretary]
[company name]
[address etc]
[I would also send a copy of this letter to the company secretary at the registered office if that is different from the office you have been dealing with]
Dear Sir
Order no xyz - Letter of Claim
On [date] I ordered [what]. [State if anything was agreed between you and the company as to date of delivery etc.] I paid £450 by debit card. I expected delivery [in accordance with your terms and conditions] by [date]. Attachment not found.0 -
curlywurly - I agree totally with your posting BUT it will cost OP at least £30 in fees. If it looks likely that the company is in trouble then not only does he risk losing his £450 he could also lose his court fee.0

The article that you quote is not very clear though is it?
Quote'' less well known is an obscure Visa rule which means that debit card transactions are often covered too.''
Doesn't say how or when a transaction is covered (or not covered) and IMO bad journalism in that they have had no reply from VISA to either confirm or contradict the story.0
