CSA arrears

Ex owes me £1300 in CSA arrears. Unsurprisingly, just as the deductions of earnings order has been put in he has left his job!!
The CSA have told me that unless he gets another job or goes on benefits then they will really struggle to get any of the arrears back. He is apparently going to be supported by his family and does not intend to get a job. Unbelievable as they are all on benefits!
Can he now be charged with the 'crime' of non-payment of CSA, as these arrears were built up whilst he was in (very well paid!) employment but he simply refused to make the payments? I know this will not get me the money that he owes, but I don't see why he should simply get away with it!

been there, done that, brought the tshirt - even if your ex does go onto benefits, the most the CSA can take is £5 per week, they can not any extra money for arrears until he gets a job.
I'm owed over £1,000 from the last 18 months, I'll be lucky to see a penny of it, - even when eh was working he was non compliant with the csa.
I was told that arrears never go away, my cousin her son is about 30 and shes had some money back from the csa in arrears.....
"as for the crime of non-payment" - its a joke.......
You could go down the complaints procedure, this wont get you any money back as if he's not earning he can't pay - Its really a case of knowing if he gets a job is to notify the csa.
xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
