Help with deposit

I will try to have a conversation about all that has been said. From talking to him it sounded as if all was in order. They did out forward a figure for a couple of houses he was interested in. There was no mention that it might be a problem getting a mortgage. Not sure if he just did this or whether he was actually doing this through an Estate Agent or a Solicitor ?
Will make sure that he understands his position and takes advice on it. I am happy to give him the deposit but not if it is going to mean that he is throwing good money after bad. They could but don't think he would even consider it move back to his own house. Nothing had changed in relation to jobs etc so he could continue in his job with a longer drive and his wife with the shorter drive. At the moment they have now got his wife with the longer drive and he has the shorter.
They could continue to rent until the market picks up. At least they have a house with a good credit rating whereas they could throw all that away due to failure to really think this through.
