Builder gifting 20% ??

Trying to find out if I'm smelling a rat... Did Barratt ever run a scheme whereby they gifted 20% if the buyer had 5%? Sounds an awful lot to me... I know the government are providing these deposit loans now but never thought a builder would, and especially not that much?? I may be wrong... It would have been around 2008/09. Thanks!

I have heard of developers giving big discounts to sell the last remaining properties on a site, particularly during the depths of the crash, but don't know any specifics regarding this developer or the percentage available.DFBX2016 #024

Some builders, including Barratt's used to give equity loans of 10-20%, that became repayable in full on property sale or 10-15 years. Maybe this is it?0
