Hi Guys.
Im a self employed 28 year old with my own roofing company.
I meet all the criteria for our borrowings with my partner. we have a deposit of 10% but i have a CCJ for £25!!! Yes £25. I never knew i had it until i did a credit check on my self. The ccj is 3 years old and has now been satisfied for 2 years. Will this affect me getting a mortgage for buying my first home?
thanks in advance

Yes, it's likely to have a big effect.
Have you looked into why you didn't know anything about it? Were court papers served at your old address or something?
You've got nothing to lose by applying to have it set aside. Worst case scenario is you'll be in the same position you're in now, minus the court fee. What will your verse be?

It may cause issues with some lenders but not enough to stop you getting a mortgage.
I wouldnt worry about not getting a mortgage. Speak to a broker and it should be easy enough to overcome... just avoid estate agent based brokers where possible.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
