solicitor !!!! up?

a bit of advice needed please. we applied for 4k extra on top of our mortgage. was passed and the local council sent the solicitor a letter of postponement regarding the extra funds 30th august . solicitor contacted us asking for bank details to transfer the extra money in. we completed and none went to our bank. solicitor hadnt even sent the letter to nationwide. nationwide said solicitor should have asked for full amount but didn't. now the letter has eventually been sent or so they say what happens now?
