Mortgage-free Glee! Hung up my suit! Xmas Saver!
Just start with what you want to keep a record of and work from there,
do you need cells to tally in a column or tally from another area or another page etc.
Start with the basics and evolve from there (save as you go so if you mess up you can go back easily.

My spreadsheet consists of one page for a list of basics which when changed the figure on other pages changes, then a page of two six monthly tables (for easier view) of what is in what accounts and then 12 pages (one for each month) of what is meant to go where each month, how much is actually going where (if savings etc. different and the 3 monthly phone bill), which is back to zero when gone from my account and the total of what is in the account.

Then I have different ones for two life insurances and what they are worth each year.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • I have a tab for daily spends and what on, one for a monthly spend where I update against my bank balance, fuel spends, savings and one for what I owe minus the payments. I also have mini calculation in the spends to show how much per month I need to save for yearly bills. I would just have a play around and see what you come up with as it tends to evolve over time as you get used to what you want.

Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Debt-free and Proud!
    Mine has .....

Page 1 - A list of all my creditors, what I owe them, what date 0% deals run out, last payment dates etc

Page 2 - My weekly budget totals, shows all my different savings pots and the ongoing monthly spend budget which I update daily to track what's in the bank.

Page 3 - Household bills / DD - As these come out of a separate account to Page 2. Shows how much and on what date then has a separate column which shows the same but I can delete them as they're paid so I have a bottom line saying what should still be in the bank at that time.

Page 4 - 3yr projections - shows all creditors and the planned payments over the next three years. Any over payments are easy to input and you can see the effect this has over the three years straight away.

Page 5 - Copy of my snowball from 'whats the cost', updated monthly. A more formal version of page 4.

Page 6 - Savings Plans projections

Page 7 - Credit files details, log on's and comments

Page 8 - Xmas List, all friends and family, amount allocated to each, suggestions for pressies, actual pressies bought, amount spent etc.

It started off as 1 small page but has now become a very extravagant work of art!!

    Have fun
