Parcelforce via Ebay/Paypal charge the same rate for N. Ireland as the rest of the UK. Parcelforce48 is £11.99. As said previously can be dropped off at Post Office.
It's actually a not bad rate at all, I used to have an account with Parcelforce and was charged more for N. Ireland.

As a NI buyer I would give negative feedback if I was asked for more money when paying if the postage stated UK P&P and didn't list exclusions.
Sometimes we have to do a lot of searching to find the best value when buying as large number of people don't send to here or charge extra etc.
I have used Collect Plus to send parcels with no NI surcharge - post office were charging £13, collect plus charged £6.

Thank you to everyone who pointed out I made a mistake, YES, I did so, so was trying to rectify it. Yes, I have learnt that most couriers add a surcharge on to NI which I was not aware of, but I am now. I have never actually asked my buyer to pay any extra money.

At no point have I argued against people's advice, or said I am not doing things they have suggested, so don't understand why some people seem abrasive, maybe it is just the way it comes across over the internet.

I have spoken to my buyer who is happy with how things have been sorted, so probably best to leave this thread at that.

Tiger-eyes (great user name), did My Hermes quote you a decent price?
  • Yeah, sent with My Hermes, don't know why I never thought of using them, got loads of drop-off points near me too! :)

. so I'm sure they won't want to pay it.

I have sent a nice message explaining this, saying I will refund immediately, is there anything I can do if this person starts being funny ie; demanding I send it anyway, or giving me a neg/ low stars?

    Thanks in advance :)

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that, when I checked it said you had to drop it off at a depot, & the postcode finder said my nearest depot was 10 miles away.

It was only a difference of a few pounds though, so I still think it will be more than they are willing to pay.

I am not native to the Uk so this is not my first language but even I cannot agree to be incorrectly interpreting your pronouns.

You inferred the buyer would be paying any extra. Yes the pedant may suggest you didn't ask, but the reason for this post was that you wanted to cancel having established it would cost you more.

According to the ParcelForce online download price list, 5 kg to NI is £10.77 by Express48 tariff..
I do hope neither you nor your buyer ended up paying more than that.

Tip - there's this wonderful search engine called google which allows even normal people to do their own research and come up with answers in a few seconds.

Where is the fun in that?

MSE would disappear if we all just Googled stuff instead of coming in here and having a good chat. :D
