Old debt gone from credit report, statute barred?

I have an old debt that I made one payment on in about 2008/2009 but it is a much older loan that is now gone from my credit report. How do I find out when the last payment was made without waking the sleeping dog?

The payment was made to a dca who had trashed out a deal to clear the debt over 3 instalments. Once the first instalment (samllest amount) was made they said they couldn't take any more as the original debtor had taken the debt back from them. We have had the odd letter since then but no real enforcement. What's going on?

Accounts drop off your file 6 years from default date, paid or not.

You need a period of 6 years with no payment or acknowledging the debt in writing to become statute barred.

Who's the debt with and which DCA was it.
