Joint mortgage - yes or doubtful?

I've recently got married and have been with my husband for 7 years. He is fully aware of my bad payment history.

I entered into a debt management plan in 2007, with all of my accounts fully settled in March 2011.

My husband has a sole mortgage on our house but were looking to up size and Im after some advice on if it is likely I will be able to get a joint mortgage with him.

We earn £37.5k and £42k with mine being the higher salary. I have been trying to re-build my credit score with a credit building credit card which i use and pay off in full every month. My last default was in 2007.

My current credit scores are:
Experian 999 Excellent
Equifax 366 Fair

Would it be worthwhile meeting a mortgage broker or going to our current mortgage lender to discuss?

Any advice greatly accepted!!

The numbers from Experian and Equifax mean nothing.

No harm in going to your current lender after you talk to a broker to see what other deals are open to you.
