Free or nearly free books?

Options
I like reading.

Anywhere to get second hand/used books for cheap or free online? Frustratingly searching 'free books' comes up with ebooks or kindle stuff nowadays, and i'd rather not spend more time looking at screens.

Any suggestions or links welcome!

www.readitswapit.co.uk swap books for the cost of postage.

Lovely site, all done on trust i.e. you will send the book you promised to swap :D

Used it for years & only had a couple of "non senders"..

    Have a look :)

You never said you wanted to keep them, you said you "like reading"

You won't be able to keep them with the readitswapit site otherwise it's a one-way deal which defeats the object of it. I'd have thought the postage costs makes it a rather expensive method anyway.

Why not just go to charity shops?
I've bought paper backs for just 10p or 20p and some hardbacks from 30p

Our local library also sells books that they are taking out of circulation - usually a trolley of them somewhere in the library. Currently costing 30p each.

When i ask a genuine question and am greeted with worthless sarcasm when the person knew exactly what i meant, i'll call them out on it. It's not nastiness.

Have you confused Vassa with quoia there? If not, then I need to know whereabouts in the country you live so I can move there. I want to live in your world where replying to a sarcastic comment with, "I am a member of the LIBRARY" is being nasty. Sounds like a great place to live.
