A little fed up trying to find a default...

Hi all. This is my first post on the forum, so hope I'm in the right place!

For a little while now I've been trying to sort out my finances. I've finally managed to get a decent bank account, but am only able to get any sort of credit with a HUGE interest rate. I've got a default on my credit file from a company called Arrow Global, for the ridiculous amount of £46. This default is on all 3 credit reports.

Now, Arrow Global have made no attempt to contact me, to my knowledge (I've lived at my current address for 2 years now) so the only reason I knew the default was there was because I saw it on my credit report.

When I first contacted them about it, they said the account was being dealt with by Fredrickson International, and gave me a reference number. I contacted Fredrickson International and they are unable to find anything at all in my name, searching by previous post codes, phone numbers, my date of birth etc.

Since then I have been just about hounding them on their 0800 numbers. I feel like something's a little wrong there, surely they should be chasing me? lol. Anyway, I have called them both almost every day for the last month, but Arrow Global just tell me I need to talk to Fredrickson, and Fredrickson tell me they can't find anything, will get in touch with Arrow Global and get them to call me back. They never call back.

What should my next step be? Is there some other way of finding out what the default is for, and more importantly getting it cleared?

Sorry to ramble, and Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!

  • Formal written, signed for complaint to Arrow asking why they logged a default on your file but they seem to know nothing of your account.

    Chances are they sold it to FI, but FI haven't properly set up their systems to know about it. Happened to need before with different DCA.

    Can't easily ignore a complaint like this as you can refer to FOS and hit them in the pocket.
