Thorntons place name favours

Options
Just saw on thorntons they are doing chocolate tags which you can have whatever u want iced on them.

They are £1.50 each but if you combine if as a place name and a favour it's a bargain.

They are under the Christmas section.

Just to warn you, I went to a wedding with edible place settings and several people on my table opened and started eating them between courses! I thought it was a bit rude...

What are they meant to do with them?! Sometimes there can be a loooooong wait between courses (or even before eating anything) and once people have sat down and know where their place is, why are they needed to be on show still? I'd rather people ate/enjoyed a favour rather than left it behind/forgotten in the depths of their handbag for evermore!

I would just have preferred they didn't start eating them while everyone else was still eating that course of the meal. Each to their own though...

Really? Must have been a really fun wedding if you spent that much attention on the other guests.

I think it is a lovely idea, but quite expensive for what it is. I got personalise chocolate favours for £20 for 100 which people loved. Place name had people menu choices, so this wouldn't have worked.

I personally think it is a lovely idea if you are prepared to really splash out, but one of those 'additional' costs that can take a couple way over their budget for little gain otherwise.
  • My friend's wedding had bowls of Haribo and Love Hearts on the table and they got eaten between, and during, courses.

There's worse things in life than that :)

Love the tags but they would mount up expensive!

I couldn't imagine eating sweets between a starter and a main -it'd make the main taste weird......but between the main and sweet - especially if service was slow.....why not. They were placed there to be eaten after all. I think it'd be very disheartening if like so many favours they were left behind at the end of the evening untouched.

Recently a young couple we know got married, both of them red heads. Apparently at each place there was a gingerbread man cookie, red heads ;). The name tag was attached on a ribbon then there were dishes of sprinkles and writing icing, small tubes. People were encouraged to decorate their own cookie. Excellent idea.

What a brilliant idea, and it will be something that won't get left on the table :)
