  • Hi gang!!

Thanks for starting the thread Ally!! Welcome to all the newbies and a big hello to all our regulars!!

Had a bit of a spendy weekend, with a cousin's hen night, a trip to the dreaded Ikea and the adoption of "Bubbles" the hamster... But have one very happy, smiley OH... So worth every penny!

On the plus side, been up to the following money-saving activity:

:) Meals from stores - had a snack before going out for dinner so stuck with smaller, cheaper meals. Gave auntie a lift as was driving via her village anyway, so she bought the drinks!

:) Adopted Bubbles the Hamster via the Pets @ Home adoption scheme... He needs special lots of love and cuddles as his old family didn't want him - cue both OH and I falling in love!! Total cost for bubbles was a £15 donation to the shop's charity... That included his cage, accessories, food etc - which would have set us back well over £75... And we've given a special little guy a new home - winner all round!!

:) Resisted eating and lots of lovely photo frames/candles/cushions at IKEA and just got what we originally went in for - a first!!

    :) Heating has stayed off

:) OH did weekly shop for under £30 at Lidl... Fantastic for her!!

:) Now both doing the 30 Day Shred DVD... Highly reccomended!

:) Date night tonight - DVD and HM popcorn under a blanket

Think that's about it really - enjoying a rare lazy weekend!!
    Glad everyone is well...

    Catch up properly tomorrow! xxx

  • A couple more to add to the list -

:) switched the oven and hob off before end of cooking to use residual heat today.
:) packed up my lunch for tomorrow
:) spent a while on the forums checking out what more i can do to save cash!
:) hopefully getting a bag of apples from a friend - pie time yum!
:) leaving my hair to dry naturally rather than using hairdryer
:) decided to make 5 birthday cards for those between now and January with supplies i already have, thought about designs.
:) going to do a few more Adpoints before bed. 210 this week so far!
:) discovered i can make really yummy yummy flapjacks very cheaply, about 75p a batch, lorraine pascale recipe.

Am feeling very smug that OH hasn't noticed that I've watered down the fab cond, and that I've washed at 30deg, he can be very fussy. HAHAHA!!! xxx
