Not sure quite what I want to say but here goes. I find it hard to understand why some people have so much to bear in life and others don't. I read of lots of people on here experiencing serious illness either themselves or their family. Fortunately I've been very lucky healthwise but seem to have a very difficult financial situation to deal with (basically started up a franchise which was a con and lost about £60K ) which I really cannot see ever being resolved. Others seem to sail through life with everything falling into place, no health worries, no financial problems, good jobs.

Sometimes I find it overwhelming especially when one more thing goes wrong. Camel...back.

Sorry if this is a bit deep for an MSE thread but I feel quite depressed today and then when I read of others battling ill health I feel guilty for worrying about just money. Just felt I had to get that off my chest!

I know what you mean, but I think often we don't know what's going on in other people's lives. It's a rare person in my experience who doesn't have something major to deal with at some time or other.

What I struggle with sometimes are the spells when things are going all right or well for my family and not for those around us. We are currently going through a good spell, but the last few years previously were really shi77y. The way I've come to see it is that it's like the wheel of fortune, we each have our own wheel turning, and at any given point some of us will be up and some of us will be down. It's no good feeling guilty about being at a good point if your friends aren't, it's actually better that way because then the current fortunate ones can stay strong and help the ones in difficulty.

    Hope that makes sense. :o
    Hope is not a strategy.

Last time I had a delivery tinned dog food I gave driver a £1-70 off Tesco coupon he wouldn't take it told me to take it to Tesco with my receipt. I did this and  Tesco couldn't reimburse because I bought online.

Im afraid Ive had to skip through most of today's proceedings. I apologise for that lack of thanks.

Im debtfree. Im sorry to hear about your son illness :(. It's good that you have time off work whilst he has his treatment. It can be so draining both mentally and physically looking after someone who is having treatment. please take time to look after you too :A

Rudeboy, so very sorry to hear about your uncle :(. I hope you can take some comfort from the fact that he's at peace now and his suffering is over :A

On a practical note, regarding your partners medical records. She is entitled to see them under the Data Protection Act. This is done by way of a Subject Access Request just like a request for any other personal data.
She would need to make a formal request in writing to the DPA officer hospital/trust concerned. The letter should state that's she wishes to make a SAR under the Data Protection Act 1998. They then have to supply her with all the information that they have, in any format. They can charge you for this but only to a maximum of £10. If you want GP records too that would be a separate request. Having both to cross reference might help you track down where any breakdown in communication occurred HTH
