I purchased 2 large wardrobes 3 years ago from ikea, I no longer have proof of purchase and I can not prove when I got them from bank statements as I may have paid cash.
they have sliding mirror doors which have warped so much I can hardly move them.
I told them the type of door and gave them codes from it. also sending photos of the warp.
they said as it was a type they have known problems with they would replace with a better range. (no longer do my sort).
they are changing the entire 2 wardrobes with fittings.ie shelves and baskets.
    and taking old ones away.
I had to post this as I think it was excellent customer service especially as I could not prove when I got them. they said they would know their own doors so that part was not a problem. I am so pleased with the outcome as I had already come to terms with getting new ones.
I remember at the time, I could have got the ones they are now giving me but I thought they were a little expensive.
so all in all thank you ikea for your excellent after sales service.

I think they changed them without proof of purchase so easy, because the doors had mirror glass, and possible injury resulting in them breaking was not worth there reputation or facing a lawsuit.
but that aside they still done more than I expected. :)
ps the cost of the new ones is £758

Wow that's fab, well done. We had the same problem, warped sliding mirror doors (which also had weird almost mould like spots under the glass), but ikea c/s told me there was nothing they would do as I was out of the 1yr guarantee period. We ended up chucking the wardobe . Now wish I'd pushed a bit harder, but they were very adamant when I spoke to them.
now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it :o

Hello all. Spent the afternoon at my (sort of/future) SIL being chased by this little menace. He's called Plonker.

I said that to them , but apparently it's only the PAX ones with a 10 yr guarantee, it was a cheaper version of it which they no longer stocked. :(
